Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the centenary year of the Municipal Council is a celebration of respect for every citizen of Shujalpur. It is a festival of our heritage, achievements and collective resolve. With the immense grace of Jatashankar Mahadev, Shujalpur Municipality has completed 100 years of public service and public welfare. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced to provide Rs 3 crore for the new building of Shujalpur Municipality and Rs 2 crore to Municipal Council Shujalpur for other development work including roads in the municipal area. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was virtually addressing the centenary year celebrations organized in Shujalpur on the completion of 100 years of Shujalpur Municipal Council on Thursday from Ministry Bhopal. Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar, Municipality President Smt. Babita Parmar were present in the program held in Shujalpur.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there is continuous progress in cleanliness related activities in Shujalpur. Additional efforts will be made in the coming years to bring the city to a better position in the national ranking. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the last two years, an amount of Rs 5 crore has been made available for auditorium and CC road in Shujalpur, Rs 6 crore 60 lakh for road construction under Kayakalp scheme, Rs 12 crore for water supply under Amrit 2. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Shujalpur has been the land of heroes. When Peshwa Bajirao I hoisted the flag of victory in Malwa, Shujalpur was his strategic priority. Leading the army of Peshwas on this sacred land, Rano ji Shinde sacrificed everything for the motherland. The grand Shiva temple built in his memory and the historic Chhatri still inspire us for bravery.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that exactly 100 years ago in 1926, the Municipal Council was formed in Shujalpur on the foundation of bravery and determination. The resolve for a bright future has today become a banyan tree. At present Shujalpur is becoming a model of development. As a result of the ongoing activities in the state under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is continuous progress in roads, health, education facilities, trade-business activities etc. in Shujalpur area. Through the Council, the State Government is proving its resolve to provide roads, electricity and water to every household. Efforts have been made to solve the drinking water problem of the city to a great extent. There are preparations to keep Jamghad river clean in the city at a cost of Rs 21 crore 55 lakh. This initiative will be a gift to the coming generations. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav called for encouraging public participation to take Shujalpur to the pinnacle of development.
Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, in the last two years, the area has been rejuvenated in terms of development and public welfare. Minister Parmar requested Chief Minister Dr. Yadav to allot land for a new and bigger bus stand. Municipal President Mrs. Babita Parmar also addressed the program. Former minister Vijendra Singh Sisodia, District Panchayat President Hemraj Singh Sisodia, public representatives, social workers and a large number of local people were present in the program in Shujalpur.
