Raipur : In the program “Chhattisgarh Gyan Sabha Vikram Samvat 2082”, the Medicinal Plants Board set up an attractive exhibition hall on the topic “Plant a medicinal garden at home, the health of the body will remain healthy and the children will remain healthy”. Many medicinal and aromatic plants including Brahmi, Aloe Vera, Vermillion, Pippali, Lemon Grass, Madhuparni (Stevia), Chiraita, Adusa, Coleus, Bada Patharchatta and Nirgundi were displayed in this exhibition room. This initiative of the Forest Department is an important step towards conservation, promotion and increasing public awareness of medicinal plants in the state, thereby inspiring citizens to adopt natural medicine methods and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Chhattisgarh Tribal, Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board, operating under the Forest and Climate Change Department of Chhattisgarh Government, took active participation in the “Chhattisgarh Gyan Sabha Vikram Samvat 2082” program organized in Bhilai (District Durg) from 28 February to 1 March 2026. This program was organized at Junwani campus of Shankaracharya Professional University. It was jointly organized by Chhattisgarh Private Universities Regulatory Commission and Shiksha Sanskrit Sansthan Trust.

School students, college students, common citizens and distinguished guests who came to the exhibition obtained information regarding the daily use of medicinal plants and their health benefits. Many people expressed their desire to develop medicinal gardens in their homes. Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi, Dr. Atul Kothari (National Secretary, Shiksha Sanskrit Sansthan Trust), Shri I.P. Mishra (Convenor, Chhattisgarh Gyan Sabha and Vice Chancellor), Higher Education Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma, Shri Rajeev Prakash (Director, Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai) and many distinguished citizens were present.
