BhopalIn Madhya Pradesh, the heat has started becoming intense since the beginning of March this year. Generally, the temperature rises rapidly in the state after March 15, but this time the trend has changed and a rise in mercury is being seen in the first fortnight. After Sagar and Gwalior-Chambal region, now the effect of heat is clearly visible in Indore and Ujjain divisions also.
Temperature crossed 35 degrees in many cities
The maximum temperature in Indore has reached 36.2 degrees Celsius, while in Bhopal, Gwalior, Ujjain and Jabalpur the temperature has also crossed 35 degrees. Narmadapuram was the hottest city in the state on Friday, where the temperature was recorded at 38.1 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, temperature of 36 degrees or more was also recorded in Dhar, Damoh, Sagar, Shajapur, Guna, Chhatarpur, Ratlam and Tikamgarh. The drop in temperature is less even during night and at many places the minimum temperature remains above 18 degrees.
Heat increased due to clear sky
According to the Meteorological Department, a trough is passing through the eastern part of the state and cyclonic circulation is also active, although it is not having much impact on the state. Due to the clear sky, the strong rays of the sun are reaching the ground directly, due to which the effect of heat is being felt more.
Advisory issued to avoid strong sunlight
In view of the intense heat, the Meteorological Center Bhopal has also issued an advisory for the people. According to senior meteorologist Dr. Divya E. Surendran, the sun is at its strongest between 12 noon and 3 pm, hence one should go out only when there is important work and if possible, it is advised to stay in the shade.
It has also been advised to drink adequate amount of water throughout the day, keep the body hydrated, wear light and loose cotton clothes and cover the face with cloth while going out in the sun. Special care has been taken for children, elderly and sick people.
Mercury can reach 40 degrees in two days
The Meteorological Department estimates that the maximum temperature in the state may increase by about four degrees in the next two days. In such a situation, it is expected that the temperature in many cities may reach 40 degrees in the first fortnight of March.
