Bhopal : With the aim of securing and strengthening the happiness of the common people on the occasion of Holi, the holy festival of colors, Madhya Pradesh Police has taken effective action with special priority for the speedy recovery of lost and stolen mobile phones in various districts of the state. Madhya Pradesh Police, committed to the security of public property, has achieved remarkable results through modern technical resources, cyber analysis, coordinated use of CEIR and NCRP portal and special teams formed at the police station level.
In the last three weeks, a total of 1835 lost/stolen mobile phones have been recovered and handed over to their legitimate owners in various districts, the estimated total value of which is more than Rs 3 crore. In many districts, special campaigns were conducted at the local level and mobile distribution programs were organized on the occasion of Holi, which brought smiles back on the faces of the citizens and further strengthened the confidence in the police.

Gwalior
As a special gift to the common people on the holy festival of Holi, Gwalior Police has achieved remarkable success by recovering lost mobile phones. Through CEIR portal, Cyber Cell has traced and recovered a total of 551 missing mobile phones of various companies from different states and cities of the country, whose estimated value is approximately Rs 1 crore 33 lakh.
The recovered mobiles included the mobiles of a visually impaired employee, a doctor, a labor couple, a flower garland seller, a labor woman who had taken the mobile on installments, a student preparing to join the army, for whom this device was the main means of their livelihood, education or daily work.
Chhatarpur
Under “Operation Vishwas”, joint teams of Cyber Cell and various police stations traced 90 lost mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners. The estimated price of these mobile phones is around Rs 14 lakh.
In another operation, police recovered 110 missing mobile phones, whose estimated value is around Rs 15 lakh. All these mobiles were obtained through technical tracking not only from the district but also from various places including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Mahoba, Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh), Sagar, Panna and Niwari.
ujjain
Ujjain Police, with the help of CEIR portal and Cyber Cell, has recovered 409 missing mobile phones in two separate operations and returned them to their rightful owners. The estimated value of the returned mobile phones is Rs 73 lakh 50 thousand.
Singrauli
Through “Sanchar Sathi (CEIR) Portal” in Singrauli, 172 missing mobile phones have been recovered by Cyber Cell and Police Station/Outpost teams through technical action, whose estimated value is around Rs 42 lakh. Apart from Madhya Pradesh, the recovered mobiles have been tracked from various states like Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Mandala
Due to the activation of Cyber Desk and effective use of CEIR/NCRP portal by the police, a total of 253 missing mobile phones were recovered, the estimated value of which is approximately Rs 38 lakh.
A decentralized system of mobile distribution was implemented by the police, under which delivery was ensured at the police station level in addition to the district headquarters. Especially in the remote rural areas adjacent to Kanha National Park, mobile phones were delivered by Microbeat officers to the homes of the beneficiaries, which provided relief to the citizens from the inconvenience of transportation. This humanitarian initiative further strengthened police-people interaction.

Kotwali police station of Katni quickly revealed the incident of theft that took place in a mobile store located in Sabzi Mandi. In this case, 03 accused belonging to the active inter-state gang were arrested and 20 mobile phones (estimated value around Rs 3 lakh 50 thousand) were recovered from their possession.

A total of 213 mobile phones were recovered through the technical team and CEIR portal, whose estimated value is more than Rs 50 lakh. The recovered mobiles have been handed over to their rightful owners.

Gadarwara police station of Jabalpur GRP unit has arrested an accused and seized 06 stolen mobile phones (estimated value around Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand) from his possession.
Ratlam
11 missing mobile phones (estimated value around Rs 2 lakh 50 thousand) were recovered by Javra Police Station Industrial Area Police.

It is clear from these actions taken in various districts of the state that Madhya Pradesh Police is fully committed to the protection of public property through modern technical resources and sensitive policing. Continuous recovery of lost and stolen mobiles not only doubled the happiness of Holi festival among the citizens but also further strengthened the feeling of security and trust towards the police.
