Bengal will not develop through appeasement, the state is in debt of Rs 8 lakh crore

Union Home Minister Amit Shah sounded the election bugle in Bengal today. He fiercely attacked the policies of Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a public meeting in South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. He said that the state cannot develop through appeasement. Shah claimed that the state is in debt of Rs 8 lakh crore. Shah also raised questions on the financial assistance provided to madrassas. He also attacked the politics of opposition parties in other states. He also made sharp remarks on the politics of Tejashwi Yadav, Gaurav Gogoi and MK Stalin, accusing them of nepotism in states like Bihar, Assam, Tamil Nadu.

Further, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the aim of BJP’s Parivartan Yatra is to bring change in the state and free Bengal from infiltrators. He said that BJP wants to start a new era of development by removing the corrupt Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal. Shah alleged that due to appeasement politics, the development of the state has been affected and the situation in Bengal has continuously deteriorated.

Shah targeted Mamata Banerjee
Taking aim at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Amit Shah said that if Trinamool Congress returns to power by mistake, the government will not be run by Mamata Banerjee but by her ‘nephew’. He alleged that Mamata Banerjee is not interested in the development of the state and only wants to make Abhishek Banerjee the Chief Minister. Shah also said that former DGP Rajiv Kumar is being sent to Rajya Sabha, during whose tenure corruption increased in Bengal.

Said this on infiltrators
The Home Minister claimed that Trinamool Congress has made Bengal a safe place for infiltrators. He said that if the BJP government is formed, infiltrators will be driven out of the state and the security of the border state will be strengthened. Shah assured that the citizenship of any Hindu refugee will not be taken away. He also promised that if BJP comes to power, it will ensure salaries to state government employees as per the Seventh Pay Commission.
