Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that crocodiles and turtles are being conserved and promoted in the state. Madhya Pradesh government is working with the resolve to conserve endangered species. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there is continuous progress in the field of tourism in Madhya Pradesh. The Cheetah Project, started on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is continuously moving towards success. With this the number of leopards in the state has increased to 48. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said this after releasing crocodiles and turtles in the Kuno River located in Kuno National Park. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this year the number of tourists coming to Madhya Pradesh has also increased.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released 53 crocodiles and 25 turtles in the Kuno river located in Kuno National Park. Of the 53 released crocodiles named Gavelius gangeticus, 28 are male and 25 are female. Similarly, 25 turtles belong to the Three Striped Roof Turtle species, whose scientific name is Wataguru Dogoka.
On this occasion, senior MLA and State President Hemant Khandelwal, former Forest Minister Ramniwas Rawat, Sahariya Development Authority Chairman Tursanpal Baria, Vice President Sitaram Adivasi, District Panchayat President Mrs. Guddibai Adivasi, MLA Brijraj Singh Chauhan, Principal Secretary Forest Sandeep Yadav, Commissioner Suresh Kumar, DIG Sachin Atulkar, Collector Arpit Verma, Director National Chambal Sanctuary, DFO Harish Baghel, Kuno DFO R.
