New DelhiAt the launch of the European Legal Gateway Office in India on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar discussed many issues including relations between the two countries. He said that we are going through a period of major change in the global economy. Jaishankar said that reducing risk has now become a bigger priority, the supply chain structure is being changed and technology has changed the way of working. There are also major changes in demography in different parts of the world and now the idea of a global workforce is coming to the fore. Jaishankar said that countries that can link the flow of talent with opportunities and keep in mind the rule of law, transparency and fairness, will be able to take best advantage of this change. Regarding the AI Impact Summit, he said that its main objective was to understand the potential of AI, which can enhance social and economic development, reduce division and provide solutions on a large scale.
Jaishankar gave the example of European Legal Gateway
During this, Jaishankar also cited India’s European Legal Gateway Office for Europe as an example of this. He said it is not just a gateway to Europe, but a bridge between our societies, a symbol of trust and investment in a shared, skilled, dynamic and strong global workforce.
India Europe partnership also mentioned
Along with this, the Foreign Minister also emphasized on India-European Union (EU) partnership. He said that our partnership is stronger not only because of shared values, but also because we now see each other as natural and preferred partners. He said that the conclusion of negotiations on the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the agreement on Security and Defense Partnership and other concrete decisions of the 16th India-EU Summit offer a roadmap for our common future. Jaishankar said that the adoption of the joint strategic agenda till 2030 in the summit opens a new chapter of our relations, which is a sign of moving towards mutual prosperity, security and sustainable development.
