Five day Nimbeshwar cattle fair started

Jaipur. After 35 years, the five-day Nimbeshwar Mahadev Animal Fair was inaugurated by Cabinet Minister of Animal Husbandry, Cow Husbandry, Dairy and Devsthan Department, Jora Ram Kumawat, with chanting of mantras, worship of the cow of Punganur breed and hoisting of the flag. Exhibition of best animals of Punganur, Gir, Kankrej, Thar and hybrid breeds has also been organized in this cattle fair being held at Falna Road, Sanderao in Godwad region from 13th to 17th February. Addressing the program, Animal Husbandry Minister Jora Ram Kumawat said that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had made the announcement of organizing cattle fairs at the district level in the budget 2025-26. In the first phase of implementation of this budget announcement, this time district level cattle fairs are being organized in 11 districts. He said that organizing the fair increases social harmony and interaction, which brings unity in the society and also increases employment opportunities. The Animal Husbandry Department has made other arrangements for the animals in the fair including fodder, water and medicine. During the fair, stalls of 12 departments have been set up to provide information about the schemes of the state government. Along with this, 50 private people have also set up stalls to sell their products. A special counter has been set up by the Animal Husbandry Department to provide information about beneficial schemes especially in the interest of animal husbandry. At this counter, awareness is being created about Chief Minister Mangala Animal Insurance Scheme, Sex Sorted Semen Scheme and other schemes.
