Madhya Pradesh Police takes major action against illegal drugs

Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously taking strict action under the zero tolerance policy against illegal manufacturing, smuggling and cultivation of narcotics in the state. As a result of this action, in two separate major operations conducted in Rajgarh and Neemuch districts, the police have seized narcotics (MD drugs and opium plants) worth more than Rs 21 crore 97 lakh.

Neemuch- 9.76 quintals of illegal opium green plants seized – worth approximately Rs 97 lakh 60 thousand.

On February 11, police outpost Jat of the district received information from an informer that illegal opium was being cultivated in Gramluhariya Jat under the guise of cotton crop. The police took action after confirming the information through technical means and drone searching. 11,600 pieces of green plants (total weight 09 quintals 76 kg) of opium plants were seized from the spot by the police team. Total have been recovered. Whose estimated price is around Rs 97 lakh 60 thousand. A case was registered against the accused under NDPS Act and the accused was arrested.

Rajgarh- 21.510 kg MD drugs seized, estimated value around Rs 21 crore.

Rajgarh police of the district have arrested two accused with MD drugs in two separate proceedings. On February 11, Machalpur police station caught the accused near village Mana on the information of an informer. During interrogation, the accused informed about keeping MD drugs hidden in his house in village Arnia. On searching the house of the accused, the police seized 10.160 kg of MD drugs worth approximately Rs 10 crore from the cartoons kept in the kitchen.

In another action on the spot of the accused, the co-accused was taken into custody and interrogated. On being informed about the drugs hidden by him in the field, the police team reached the spot and recovered 11.350 kg of MD drugs from a green cartoon in the mustard field. In both the operations, the police have seized a total of 21.510 kg of MD drugs, the estimated value of which is estimated to be around Rs 21 crore. Top Form

It is clear from these actions that Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously monitoring and taking well-planned, strict and continuous action against the illegal drug trade. Whatever be the form or level of drug trafficking, strict steps are being taken against it, so that the society can be kept safe from the ill effects of drugs.
