CG News: Police has got a big success in the serious case of gang rape of a minor in Durg district. PWD timekeeper Raju Kashyap alias Kripa Shankar, who was absconding for a long time, has been arrested from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. A special police team has left for Uttar Pradesh to bring the accused to Durg. After the arrest, police action in the case has intensified.
Police formed teams to catch the accused
SSP Vijay Aggarwal said that ever since the case was registered, the accused was continuously trying to escape from the police and was hiding at his relatives’ place in Gorakhpur. Police were getting information that he had fled out of the state, after which different teams were formed to arrest him. The police monitored the activities of the accused with the help of call detail records (CDR), tower location and other technical means. When the mobile location was found in Uttar Pradesh, the police took immediate action and caught him.
The exploitation continued by threatening to get fired from the job.
Raju Kashyap is originally a resident of Gorakhpur and after getting a job in PWD, he was living in Durg with his family. It is alleged that the minor victim was continuously gang-raped for about seven years on the pretext of getting her a job. Not only this, the accused continued exploiting the victim by threatening to fire her from her job.
In the case, accused Sanjay had applied for anticipatory bail in Durg Court, which was rejected by the court of Fourth Additional Sessions Judge FTC (POCSO) Anish Dubey. The bail petition of the accused Anil Chaudhary arrested in this case is also pending in the court. The SSP said that investigation into other aspects related to the case is ongoing and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
