Raipur : Abujhmad, a remote forest area of Chhattisgarh and known for its long struggles, showed off its talent on Saturday. In the inauguration ceremony of divisional level Bastar Pandum organized at Lalbagh ground of Jagdalpur, the little players of Abujhmad Mallakhamb and Sports Academy mesmerized everyone by giving a wonderful presentation of Mallakhamb in front of the highest constitutional officer of the country, President Draupadi Murmu.

President Murmu praised, clapped and encouraged

This was the first occasion when the children of Abujhmad area together performed a lively and bold performance of Mallakhamb before the President. When these little artists demonstrated extraordinary balance, agility and difficult tricks on wooden poles, the spectators present in the field were filled with awe. This presentation, adorned with enthusiasm, discipline and excellent technique, left the entire atmosphere emotional.

President Draupadi Murmu herself was extremely impressed by the talent of the children. He not only praised their courage, art and discipline openly but also extended his best wishes for their bright future.

The foundation of this historic achievement lies in the inaccessible and rugged areas of Narayanpur district, where even today basic facilities are limited. Hailing from remote forests like Kutur, Karpa and Parpa, these children have proved that talent is neither dependent on resources nor geographical boundaries.

The source of inspiration for this struggling journey is Manoj Prasad, who along with being the founder of the Academy is also serving as a constable in the 16th Battalion. Under his able leadership, discipline and continuous guidance, these children have left behind their shortcomings and created their own unique identity at the national and international level.

These little Mallakhamb players have already proved their talent on the global stage by winning the title of ‘India’s Got Talent’ and becoming the runner-up in ‘Romania’s Got Talent’.

This group is continuously setting new dimensions of success by appearing in more than 40 to 50 television shows in different countries of the world including India, hundreds of stage presentations across the country, and winning gold and silver medals in many competitions.

Now this team is ready to take the fragrance of its soil, folk culture and unique skills across the seven seas in a more powerful form. The next goal of the Academy is to showcase the folk art of India and Abujhmad on prestigious global platforms like ‘America’s Got Talent’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in the future.

This historic performance in Jagdalpur is a matter of pride not only for Abujhmad Mallakhamb and Sports Academy, but also for the entire Bastar region and Chhattisgarh. This event presents a powerful picture of ‘changing Bastar’, where new stars of talent are emerging from the land of struggle.
