Raipur : If you have the passion to do something then every task in life becomes easy. This statement has been implemented by the surrendered Maoists. Today, the district administration is making efforts to make those hands skilled and efficient under the Naxal rehabilitation policy of the state, which had once adopted the path of violence by holding guns. As per the intention of the government, the Maoists who have returned from ‘violence to skill’ after training in village Chaugel (Mullah) camp are getting a new lease of life.
Training is being given on livelihood oriented activities.
Young men and women who were once involved in Maoist activities are now being given continuous training in various trades like driving, tailoring, woodcraft art, assistant electrician, so that after returning to the mainstream of the society, they can become skilled in livelihood related activities and lead a better and respectable life.
Chaugel camp complex became Kaushalgarh
Bastar division, which has been facing the brunt of violence under the shadow of Red Terror for years, is now gradually moving towards development and the scope of Maoism is gradually shrinking. The state government is making every possible effort to fulfill the resolution of the central government to free the country including Chhattisgarh from Maoism. At the same time, the government is also giving a golden opportunity to those who take up arms to shape their future. Under the Surrendered/Victim Naxal Rehabilitation Policy-2025, they are being given training under various creative and employment oriented activities. The BSF camp complex of village Chaugel (Mulla) adjacent to Bhanupratappur development block has become ‘Kaushalgarh’, where 40 surrendered Maoists who have returned to the mainstream of society are being trained in different courses, as well as being educated. As per requirement, regular study of courses from class 1st to 8th is being conducted, taking interest in which all the surrendered Maoists are engaged in shaping their future with full dedication. Continuous efforts are being made to make them skilled by making batches of 20 each.
My passion for learning driving is now being fulfilled – Manher Taram
Manher Taram, 40, a surrendered Maoist who is taking training in driving a four-wheeler, said that for the last two weeks he is being given driving training, which he is learning with full interest. From holding the steering wheel to using the clutch, brake and accelerator, the trainer is being taught. He told that his desire to learn driving is now being fulfilled. Apart from this, training in sewing and woodcraft is being given in the camp. Similarly, Narsingh Netam told that he is also trying his hand in four-wheeler driving and by coming here, he is getting involved in such activities, which can make his life better. 19 year old Sukdu Padda told that he has been taking training here for the last three months and is associating himself with livelihood oriented work, even though he is illiterate. Whereas 19 year old Ms. Kajal Vedda, while sharing her experience of the training program, said that by coming here, training is being given regularly in different courses. He had a desire to stitch clothes since childhood, and that too is being fulfilled by coming here. At the same time, she is also taking advantage of primary education provided by teachers. Similarly, all the surrendered Maoists including Jagdev Komra, Raju Nuruti, Birsingh Mandavi, Mainu Negi, Sanu Gawde, Manki Netam, Samko Nuruti, Ungi Korram, Ramoti Kawachi, Manker Hupendi, Dali Salaam, Genzo Hupendi living in the camp are getting better training as per their interest in driving, woodcraft art, sewing machine and assistant electrician trade. Are. He also informed that their health checkups are done regularly by the health department team and medicines are given as per requirement. Recreational activities like carrom, musical instruments, various types of games are also organized in the camp.
Vinod Ahirwar, nodal officer of the rehabilitation camp, said that as per the instructions of Collector North Bastar Kanker, training programs are being organized in Chaugel (Mullah) camp in batches of 20-20 in various courses to connect the 40 surrendered Maoists with the mainstream of the society and everyone is being trained in a better way. In future, training will soon be provided in various creative and self-employment oriented courses including mushroom production, horticulture.
In this way, the Maoists who have returned to the mainstream after surrendering are being given opportunities by the state government and are being linked to self-reliant and self-employment oriented positive activities, so that they can get a chance to lead a respectable life.
