Raipur : Chhattisgarh is set to establish a man-made forest area that aims to prevent, stabilize and reverse ecosystem degradation, fight climate change and avert mass extinction events. The concept of adding a touch of greenery and creating a balance with the environment will not only reduce pollution but will also revitalize the ecosystem of the area.

Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation has done extensive tree plantation work in NMDC Nagarnar area for the purpose of environmental protection and expansion of green cover. A total of 3 lakh 52 thousand 500 saplings were planted by the Corporation under contract with NMDC Nagarnar between the year 2017 to 2025, resulting in successful development of a man-made forest in the area.
Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap has congratulated the departmental officers for this achievement. Under this long-term tree plantation project, shady, fruitful and other useful species of plants suitable to the local climate were selected and planted scientifically and regularly conserved. The objective of the project is to reduce environmental impacts arising from industrial activities, promote biodiversity and strengthen the ecological balance of the area.
It is noteworthy that according to the officials of Forest Development Corporation, the developed man-made forest will play an important role in improving air quality, water conservation, temperature balance and creating green environment in future. This initiative is a commendable effort in line with the sustainable development and environment protection policy of the state government. The above work was successfully completed under the guidance of Industrial Plantation Board, Jagdalpur.
