Russia’s big step in the midst of war, Zelensky invited to come to Moscow for peace talks

Moscow. Russia has invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to come to Moscow for peace talks amid efforts to end the Ukraine war through US mediation. The Kremlin gave this information in a statement. This conflict between the two countries has been going on for almost four years. It was also reported from the Kremlin that Russia and Ukraine have completed another phase of exchange of soldiers killed in the war. However, Russia declined to comment on speculation about any agreement between the two countries to stop attacks on energy infrastructure.

Signs of talks gaining momentum
US-brokered talks in Abu Dhabi last weekend have given some momentum to peace efforts, but differences between the two sides remain. Fighting continues on the front and Ukraine is facing a power crisis due to recent missile attacks.

According to a US official, the possibility of a meeting between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin has increased. The next meeting of negotiators from the two countries is proposed in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

US President Donald Trump has also said that positive progress is being made in the peace process. However, consensus remains far from clear on issues such as territorial control and post-war arrangements.

Increased hope for temporary ceasefire
US President Donald Trump on Thursday claimed that he has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to attack Ukraine’s capital Kiev for a week because Ukraine is experiencing severe cold these days. Due to the Russian attack, there has been heavy damage to the vital infrastructure of many cities of Ukraine and people across the country are forced to live without electricity and heat. Trump has claimed that Putin has agreed to this. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Russia yet.
