Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that maximum employment opportunities should be provided to the youth by directly linking technical education, skill development and employment with the needs of the industry. He directed that the youth should be trained in only those trades which are in demand in the industry and the honorarium received during the training should directly reach their bank accounts in a transparent manner.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that such an institutional system should be developed which ensures employment as well as placement to the youth. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions in the review meeting of the Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department in Khajuraho. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed that as per the demand of the industrial areas of the state, necessary trades should be started in the nearby ITIs so that the youth can become skilled in their own fields and get employment. Emphasis should be laid on making rural youth self-reliant by starting trades in agriculture and allied sectors like agricultural equipment repair, food processing, dairy and fisheries on priority in ITI. More and more youth should be trained under PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Besides, training should also be given for management of solar system. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that every youth of the state should become skilled, get employment and Madhya Pradesh should move rapidly towards self-reliance. The government is continuously taking concrete steps for this.
Information about achievements
Head of Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Mr. Manish Singh gave information about the achievements of the last two years. He said that the highest admission has been recorded in ITI so far. 94.55% (49,402) youth have taken admission in government ITI and 74.65% (45,559) youth have taken admission in private ITI. 10 trainees from the state were honored by the Prime Minister by securing first position at the national level. Received 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 4 Bronze and 11 Medallions of Excellence at the National level and 1 Medallion of Excellence at the International level (France) in the World Skills Competition 2024. Three training officers received the National Teacher Award. Also, 113 trainees got international employment opportunities. The state stood 5th in national grading and 47 ITIs got 9+ score.
There has been significant expansion in skill based trainings. There was 87.23% admission in Future Skill Course (2233 trainees), 87% admission in 8th based trades and 490 disabled people admission. Under “Sankalp” 2340 trainees were trained, 400 youth were trained in 5G technology. IIT Jodhpur provided cyber security training to 612 students, 2127 girls got STEM and soft skill training and 220 girls got placement in collaboration with “UN Women”. UNFPA is providing life skills training to 18,000 youth every year in “Jeevan Tarang”.
Under CSR cooperation, modern laboratories have been established by the industries. Labs worth Rs 5 crore have been set up in Bhopal and Jabalpur by Maruti Suzuki, AI data labs in 9 ITIs, Manufacturing Technology Labs worth Rs 60 lakhs in Ujjain by NTPC at ITI Barwah, Siemens and Labs in various ITIs by Jekar Foundation and Sri-Sri Trust.
Under Mukhyamantri Sikho-Kamao Yojana, 27,257 candidates participated, 17,783 completed training and 5314 women were benefited. 55,311 candidates participated in NAPS, 29,866 training was completed. 4,577 were trained under PM Vishwakarma. Preparations are on to start training under PMKVY 4.0 in 40 ITIs from January 2026. Employment and self-employment opportunities are being provided in every district through Yuva Sangam.
Under PM SETU, Rs 240 crore was approved for 10 hub + 40 spoke ITIs in Madhya Pradesh. Under Mission Karmayogi, 42,030 courses were completed by 3282 employees. More than 2 thousand have been trained in Global Skill Park Bhopal and 29 youth have got international appointments.
Referring to the achievements of the Technical Education Department, it was said that there has been a significant increase in admissions due to the diploma course being recognized as equivalent to 12th. Polytechnic colleges recorded a 21.38% admission increase. Establishment of National Defense University campus is underway at RGPV Bhopal. Under the Chief Minister Medhavi Chhatra Yojana, Rs 750 crore was distributed to more than 78,218 students in the session 2024–25. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 provided training to 5500 youth and achieved 70% placement success. 9 incubation centers were selected in RAMP Scheme of MSME and 34 projects in “SRIJAN” were developed as startups.
upcoming action plan
Under the teaching quality improvement, infrastructure development, expert lectures, industry-interaction programs and employability training will be further promoted as per AICTE standards. In the coming three years, a target has been set to fill the vacant posts in engineering and polytechnic colleges on priority, establish new tech-based programs, centers of excellence and get NBA recognition for 40% of the programs.
