Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that it is our duty to worry about the pain and suffering of those who provide food to all of us. The overall welfare of farmers is the priority of the state government. This is a mission for the government. The government has declared the year 2026 as the Farmer Welfare Year. Highly effective implementation of Farmer Welfare Year should be ensured in mission mode with complete dedication towards improving the lives of farmers and their betterment. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing all the commissioners-collectors of the state through video conferencing on Saturday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that during the Farmer Welfare Year, special efforts should be made to bring prosperity in the lives of farmers. Farmer chariots should be driven. These should be inaugurated by the local MP/MLA and other public representatives only. He said that during the Farmer Welfare Year, there should be continuous communication with the farmers at various places. Encourage them to grow groundnut and urad in maximum area/quantity instead of summer moong. Encourage natural and organic farming. To promote climate, energy and sustainable agriculture, e-development portal and farmers should be made aware about the use of fertilizers in balanced quantities. More and more farmers should be benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Yojana running in aspirational districts. Give wide publicity to increase the production area of ​​pulses and oilseed crops.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that every necessary effort should be made for the development of agro-based industries in the Farmer Welfare Year. The government is taking every necessary step for the welfare of farmers in collaboration with departments related to agriculture and progressive voluntary organizations and institutions in this field. He said that under the leadership of Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development, more than 15 departments including horticulture and food processing, animal husbandry and dairy, fisheries, water resources, cooperation, energy, revenue, forest, panchayat and rural development, cottage and village industries will play an active role in celebrating the Farmer Welfare Year.

Ban the incidents of burning of stubble/grass, farmers should be made aware that they should deliver the straw to the cowsheds.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all the collectors should strictly control the incidents of stubble burning in their respective districts. Make a weed management plan for your respective district. There should be proper utilization of stubble/husk from the fields. Composite biogas plants should be established from crop residue and cow dung. All collectors should decide that the stubble and chaff removed from the fields by the farmers should be delivered to the nearest small and big cow shelters only. The cow progeny will benefit from this.

Make coordinated efforts to increase milk production – an app is being prepared for cattle farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav asked all the collectors to make coordinated efforts to increase milk production in their districts. Make cattle farmers aware about the economic benefits of focusing on breed improvement, animal nutrition and animal health. More and more fish farms should be developed at the district level for fish seed production. Fish parlors should be established in every urban body area and it should be ensured that fish sellers sell fish only in designated fish parlors/markets. The Chief Minister said that fish parlors will be built in the urban bodies of the state. A separate amount will be given for this.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that collectors should keep communicating with farmers continuously. Regularly monitor the scheduled activities of Farmer Welfare Year. Prepare rosters and continuously inspect agricultural produce markets and create a complete commercial chain for value addition by paying special attention to marketing of agricultural products.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the department to adopt innovations to increase the milk production capacity of the state. He said that animal farmers should be informed about all the new methods and measures to increase milk production. Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry said that an app is being prepared to enhance the knowledge of animal husbandry. This app will tell the cattle farmers what kind of diet should be fed to which type of cow/buffalo to increase milk production. Animal farmers will directly benefit from this.

Farmer welfare should implement the action plan for the year

While directing the collectors, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the action plan decided for the farmers welfare year should be implemented in a better way in the field. Special campaigns should be run during this period. Small and big programs should also be organised. Intensive contact should be established with farmers at the lower level. Verification and cooperation of all the beneficiaries should also be taken. New beneficiaries should also be selected during this period. Action should be taken to simplify and improve all the prevalent schemes, policies, rules and instructions. New schemes or programs should also be started during this period as per the need of the department or institution. Various types of innovative activities should also be done. New financial sources like Public Private Partnership (PPP), revitalization and corporate social responsibility (CSR fund) should also be used for the development of agriculture sector. Special efforts should also be made in the Farmer Welfare Year to get grants or approval from farmer friendly schemes of the Central Government.

Kodo-Kutki bonus distribution program will be held in Dindori in February, state level cooperative conference will be held in March.

The Chief Minister also discussed the monthly activities taking place in the Farmer Welfare Year. He said that Kodo-Kutki bonus distribution program would be organized in Dindori district in the first week of February. Kodo-Kutki is produced in more than 16 districts of the state. Government procurement of 2800 tonnes of Kodo-Kutki has been done in the year 2025. Rose festival will be organized in the second week. In the third week, a state level Agristack and digital agriculture exhibition will be organized in any district of Nimar region for 100 percent ID registration of farmers and integration of farmer-oriented schemes with Agristack. Similarly, in the last week of this month, two big programs will be organized in different districts in the name of Krishi Manthan. Apart from giving new agricultural loans to the farmers, farmers will also be benefited under the Krishak Nyay Mitra Scheme through the State Level Cooperative Conference in March. This conference will also mark the beginning of providing door step banking services to farmers through District Cooperative Central Banks.

In video conferencing, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Adal Singh Kanshana, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Baranwal, Principal Secretary Umakant Umrao, Principal Secretary D.P. Ahuja, Secretary Agriculture Nishant Varwade, Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Alok Kumar Singh, Commissioner Public Relations Deepak Kumar Saxena and other officials were present.
