While trying to steal a cut kite, a child fell from the roof, died

New Delhi. The festival of Makar Sankranti is being celebrated for two days across the country. Actually, the Sun has entered Capricorn today at around 3.20 pm on Wednesday, due to which the Sun will be in Capricorn during the sunrise the next day on Thursday, January 15, hence the 15th is said to be the auspicious time of Makar Sankranti. Meanwhile, there was a lot of kite flying on Makar Sankranti, while many incidents related to kite flying have come to light. There is news of death of two people due to Manjha in UP and Karnataka.
On Wednesday, the first day of Makar Sankranti, a large crowd of devotees was seen taking bath in the rivers Ganga, Narmada and Shipra. Lakhs of devotees have taken bath at Prayagraj Sangam, while the Makar Sankranti bath is starting from 12 o’clock in the night. Kites were flown in many states of the country on Makar Sankranti. Especially in Gujarat, kite flying has its own unique flavour. Union Home Minister Amit Shah flew kites with family and workers in Naranpura, Ahmedabad. Shah tried hard but his kite was cut.

Several incidents occurred due to kite string, 2 died
Gruesome incidents like throat slitting by Manjha during kite flying on Makar Sankranti have also come to light. According to information, a doctor died due to his neck being cut by a sword in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, in Karnataka also, a 48-year-old bike rider died due to his throat being cut by a manjha. In Rajasthan, a child died after falling from the roof while trying to steal a kite. Apart from this, in Indore of Madhya Pradesh and Banswara of Rajasthan, the neck of two bike riders was cut by the manja. Both the injured were admitted to the hospital, where they are being treated.

Doctor’s death in Jaunpur
A doctor died after his neck was cut by a Chinese manja in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. The said doctor was returning home on a motorcycle when on the way a Chinese manjha got stuck in his neck and he died due to severing of the jugular vein. It is said that the manjha was so sharp that even the doctor’s neck bone was cut and he died on the spot.

Bike rider dies in Bidar
A 48-year-old man died after his throat was slit by a kite string in Bidar district of Karnataka. Actually, Sanjukumar Hosmani, a resident of Bidar district, was going to work on his bike when he came under the influence of Manjha near Talamadgi bridge and became the victim of an accident.

Child dies after falling from roof
Another news has come from Rajasthan, in which a child died after falling from the roof while trying to steal a cut kite. According to the information, while looting a cut kite in Sriganganagar, 8 year old child Naveen fell from the Bawri roof into the water tank. Family members said that the child was watching kite flying on the terrace. Meanwhile, a cut kite passed over the roof. When Naveen tried to catch the cut kite, he lost his balance and fell down from the roof. This was the reason of his death.
