Raipur : It is a matter of great pride for the state of Chhattisgarh that the team of Eklavya Adarsh Residential School, Kosambuda under Janpad Panchayat of Gariaband district has won the first prize in the National Model Youth Gram Sabha Competition held in New Delhi. This competition was organized by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, in which more than 800 schools from across the country participated. Expressing happiness over this achievement of the students of Eklavya Residential School, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated the winning students, teachers and school management. He said that this success is a proof of the ability and quality education of the talented youth of the state.
Today, Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat Minister Vijay Sharma had a courtesy meeting with the national winning team and congratulated the students. He said that this achievement is an important success in the direction of strengthening democratic values in the education system of Chhattisgarh. The students have shown their excellent understanding of the functioning of the Gram Sabha, identifying rural problems and presenting their solutions.
Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam also described this achievement as a positive result of empowerment of education in tribal areas. While Principal Secretary of Tribal Development Department, Sonmani Bora appreciated the efforts of the students and called it inspirational towards building responsible citizens of the future.
Deputy Chief Minister Sharma said that under this competition, mock Gram Sabha sessions were organized by the students, in which practical discussions were held on rural development, decision-making process and local problems. The team from Eklavya Adarsh Residential School, Kosambuda gave in-depth understanding and effective presentation on these topics, resulting in them getting the first position. Along with a citation, the winning team has also been given an incentive amount of Rs 1 crore for the development of the institute.
On this occasion, Principal Secretary Niharika Barik and Director Panchayat Department Priyanka Mahobia heartily congratulated the school principal Dr. Kamalakant Yadav and all the students for this achievement.
