You didn’t have to kill me. By writing this line on the rear glass of a dusty car under his building, a 14 year old minor along with his elder brother brutally killed 14 year old innocent Atif Ali. The shocking thing is that since Friday night, while searching for the missing child, the accused of murder also kept pretending to search for the missing child along with the police and family members. But later the child’s body was found in the bed box of the same accused’s flat, on which the grandmother of the killers was sleeping. An old dispute between the two minors is believed to be the reason behind this heinous murder.

The innocent boy was returning from coaching as usual.

In the CCTV footage that first surfaced, 14-year-old Atif Ali of class 8 is seen riding a bicycle. After some time someone calls him and he goes inside Sridevi’s apartment. After this he is not seen coming out. Like every day, Atif was returning home from coaching on Friday night too. He was wearing a jacket and also had his bag with him. He used to reach home by 8.30 pm every day, but when he did not reach home that night, his family started searching for him. On inquiry at the tuition centre, it was told that he had left from there for home.

On enquiry, the people of the locality gave information

On inquiring in the locality, people told that Atif was seen riding a bicycle some time ago. After this, the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area was scrutinized, in which he was seen riding a bicycle and then going to Sridevi’s apartment on someone’s call. But coming back out from there he was nowhere to be seen. After this a search was started in the building. Nothing was known till the morning, but around 9 am, Atif’s blood-stained jacket was found on the roof of the building and his blood-stained bag was found in the garbage behind the building.

The family informed the police about the missing child.

The family had informed the police about Atif’s disappearance in the night itself. After finding the jacket and bag, the police was informed again, on which the MIG police reached the spot. The police started searching at every possible place including every flat in the building. When no success was achieved, a sniffer dog was called and a search was conducted with its help.

dead body found inside the box

During the search, a young man was keeping a very excited eye on every activity of the police. The police became suspicious of him and interrogated him. He told his name as Rehaan, who lives with his family in Sridevi apartment. When his flat was closely examined again, a blood stained T-shirt was recovered from there. After this a more intensive search was conducted. His elderly grandmother was found sleeping on a patio-like bed in the hall of the flat. When grandmother was lifted and the bed box was opened, the first clothes were visible inside. On removing the clothes, Atif’s blood soaked body was found.

Police arrested the accused

After this the police arrested Rehan and his 14 year old minor brother. According to the police, deceased Atif had a dispute with Rehan’s younger brother a few days ago. There is a suspicion that Atif may be murdered with the intention of taking revenge. It is also believed that the one who wrote “Tereko mereko marana nahi tha” on the rear glass of the car was also a minor accused. It is being told that an elder brother of Rehan is already serving life sentence in jail in a murder case.

murder by strangulation with rope

According to the police, Atif was taken to the roof of the building and strangulated to death with a rope. Injury marks were also found on his head. Blood was found scattered near a platform on the roof, which was tried to be cleaned by washing it with water. A blood stained claw mark was also found printed nearby. Atif’s jacket was also recovered on the roof of the building.

The family deals in drugs

Local residents have alleged that Rehan and his family used to deal in hashish, ganja and other intoxicants. Residents say that the police was also aware of this, but despite this no concrete action was taken. At present, the police is investigating the role of Rehan and his other family members in this entire matter. Police have arrested Rehan and his minor brother, while his mother and grandmother have been detained for questioning. The accused are being interrogated thoroughly.
