Raipur : On the second day of the state level review meeting of Chief Medical and Health Officer and Civil Surgeon held at Swasthya Bhavan in Nava Raipur, Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal gave clear directions to the officials to further strengthen the health services of the state. He said that there has been significant improvement in the health sector in the last two years, but the priority of the government is still to ensure that timely and quality health services reach the last person living in remote, forest and tribal areas.
The Health Minister said that continuous services are being provided through 57 mobile medical units in inaccessible areas. He directed all the Chief Medical and Health Officers to regularly review these units and ensure mandatory taking of feedback from the beneficiaries. With special focus on tribal areas, he also gave instructions to organize necessary review meetings every month.
Regarding emergency services, Minister Shri Jaiswal stressed on ensuring prompt resolution of complaints related to 102 Mahtari Express, 108 Sanjeevani Express and 1099. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide better health services and for this work should be done in mission mode at all levels. In this sequence, he directed to make more than 5,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandir sub-health centers of the state fully functional, to provide adequate human resources and to complete other necessary arrangements including infrastructure in a timely manner.
Emphasizing the need to strengthen diagnostic services, the Minister directed to ensure availability of lab technicians in hospitals and quality and accuracy of tests. He said that soon the testing facilities will be expanded in all the hospitals by purchasing new testing equipment. Besides, instructions were also given to ensure action as per rules against doctors who prescribe medicines from outside.
Describing human resources as the backbone of the health system, Shri Jaiswal directed the Chief Medical and Health Officers and Civil Surgeons of the new districts to issue advertisements related to recruitment within a week. Describing the Prime Minister’s National Dialysis Program as an ambitious scheme, he laid special emphasis on setting up dialysis units at every block level and expanding Jan Aushadhi Centers to all primary health centres.
In the meeting, the Health Minister made it clear that the government hospitals of the state are not inferior to private hospitals in any respect. Instructions were given to pay special attention to ensuring high level sanitation along with better treatment facilities in the district hospitals. Describing it as the primary responsibility of the government to further strengthen the image of government hospitals, he also gave instructions to ensure availability of blood banks compulsorily in all district hospitals.
