Raipur : Mainpat, which is called Shimla of Chhattisgarh, is famous for its valleys, waterfalls and natural beauty full of greenery. An important step has been taken towards giving new impetus to tourism facilities and residential development in Mainpat, famously known as ‘Shimla’ of Chhattisgarh. The state government has allotted 4.80 hectares (12 acres) of land in Mainpat to Chhattisgarh Housing Board for Atal Vihar Yojana.
Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Anurag Singh Dev said that the construction of a modern and multi-use tourism and residential complex will be started soon on this land. This project, which will be developed in harmony with the natural environment, will provide better, safe and economical stay to the tourists visiting Mainpat. One of these wonderful places is Jalpari Tourist Point. The beautiful view of Jalpari Point takes you to a fairy tale world. The cool winds blowing here, deep valleys and the melodious sound of waterfalls mesmerize the travelers. Hills playing with clouds and changing colors in every season are the special identity of this place.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the natural beauty of this place is as attractive as a mermaid. The tranquil environment, flowing water from waterfalls and lush green forests make the tourists coming here feel as if they have entered a fairy tale. Anurag Singh Dev said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Sai, Housing and Environment Minister O.P. This has been possible due to the active efforts of Chaudhary and Tourism Minister Rajesh Aggarwal. He said that in view of the ever increasing tourist arrival in Mainpat, the need for such facilities was being felt for a long time.
Modern wellness and entertainment facilities will be developed in the proposed complex at Mainpat. Singh Dev said that wellness center, natural Panchakarma therapy, herbal spa and AYUSH services based on Kerala model are proposed in the project. Also, 24×7 club house, millets café, gym, swimming pool, kids play area, steam bath and entertainment zone will be developed. The eco-friendly development will also include tree houses, cottages and a cultural area to experience local life and culture.
Housing and Environment Minister O.P. Chaudhary said that Mainpat is a unique and emerging tourist destination of Chhattisgarh. In view of the rapidly increasing number of tourists, development of modern facilities here is imperative. This initiative of the Housing Board will give a new direction to tourism, housing and local economy and will strongly establish Mainpat on the national tourism map. Singh Dev said that the project will boost tourism activities in Mainpat, create local employment opportunities and open new possibilities in the hospitality sector. Availability of quality accommodation facilities will increase the stay time of tourists, which will strengthen the regional economy.
Tourism Minister Rajesh Aggarwal described the project as a milestone for the tourism expansion of Chhattisgarh. He said that development of modern tourism facilities will provide better experience to tourists and strengthen the hospitality sector of the state. The overall development of Mainpat will provide employment and business opportunities to the local youth and will give new heights to the identity of the area.
Mainpat, a hill station in Chhattisgarh situated in the hills of Surguja, experiences cold throughout the year. There are many beautiful places for sightseeing, which include Buddhist Temple, Ulta-Pani, Tiger Point, Jaljali, Mehta Point, Tea Garden and many other places. Tourists from other districts of the state come to visit here, apart from this people also come from different states of the country. Now the tourism department is expanding the facilities for tourists in Mainpat.
Chairman Anurag Singh Dev said that this initiative will strengthen the historical role of Housing Board in the field of tourism and housing development in Chhattisgarh and will become the basis for establishing Mainpat as a major national tourist center in future.
