Raipur : The identity of good governance in Chhattisgarh is not limited only to plans and decisions, but is also visible in touching the lives of the common people and employees with human sensitivities. Bastar district administration, showing this sensitivity, took such an exemplary step, which has further strengthened the positive image of the administration in the entire state.
A dignified farewell ceremony was organized for 16 retired officers and employees at the Astha Room of the Collectorate located in Jagdalpur. On this occasion, the name of forest department employee Dilraj Das was also included, but a few days before his retirement, he suffered a serious stroke of paralysis, due to which he became unable to walk. His deep desire to attend the ceremony remained unfulfilled due to health constraints.
When this issue came to the notice of Collector Akash Chhikara, he took a quick decision with human sympathy and said that if the employee could not come to the function, the administration would itself go to his house. On the instructions of the Collector, senior treasury officer Anil Kumar Pathak along with assistant treasury officer Summata Dhruv and treasury staff reached the residence of Dilraj Das and respectfully handed over all the terminal benefits including pension payment order (PPO) to him and inquired about his health.
Dilraj Das and his family members became emotional after finding the administration at their doorstep. This initiative became for them not only financial support but also a symbol of respect, trust and intimacy. This sensitive working style of Bastar district administration proves that the good governance of Chhattisgarh is not just a formality, but a people-centric administration based on human values, which stands with sensitivity and responsibility towards each of its employees.
