According to the legend of Shukra Pradosh, three friends lived in a city. There was a very good friendship between the three. Of those three friends, one was a Seth’s son, one was a king’s son and one was a Brahmin’s son. The marriage of the king and the Brahmin’s son had taken place. They were happy in their married life, but Seth’s son was married but his marriage was yet to take place.
Its just matter of one day. The three friends were talking among themselves about women. Meanwhile, the Brahmin’s son said that the house where there is no woman is haunted by ghosts. Hearing his words, Seth’s son started thinking about himself. He decided to get his wife Gauna and bring him home. He went to his home and told his father about his decision.
On this Seth told his son that at this time Venus is setting. For this reason, the daughter-in-law or daughter is not sent away from the house at such times. In such a situation, it is not auspicious to bring your wife home. After the rising of Venus, go to the in-laws’ house and bid farewell to the wife and bring her home. But he did not listen to his father and reached his in-laws’ house.
He asked his mother-in-law and father-in-law to send his wife away. But both of them tried to convince their son-in-law. But he did not agree. Feeling helpless in front of his son-in-law, he sent his daughter away. Seth’s son had just gone out of the city with his wife, when the wheel of his bullock cart and the leg of one of the bulls broke.
The wife also got injured in this incident. But even after that, Seth’s son did not stop. He continued moving forward taking his wife with him. On the way, some bandits surrounded both of them. They ran away with all their money. Seth’s son reached home saddened by the loot of money. At that very moment a snake bit him.
Seth called a doctor, when he saw him he said that this person is a guest for 3 days, after which he will die. When his Brahmin friend came to know about this, he came to his house. She told Seth to send his daughter-in-law back to her parents’ home with her husband. Venus is setting and this happened because of bringing the daughter-in-law in such a situation. If the daughter-in-law reaches her parents’ house with her husband, her life may be saved.
Seth immediately sent his son along with his daughter-in-law to her house. As soon as he reached his in-laws’ house, Seth’s son’s health started improving. Since then his son became alive. He lived a happy life with his wife. After death both of them attained heaven.
