Bhopal : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that on the basis of the capabilities of engineers, we are seeing the dream of a developed and self-reliant India in the year 2047 as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Public Works Department, as per its name, is realizing its resolve to serve the people of the state through Lok i.e. public and Nirman i.e. creation. Apart from being a politician, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is striving for India’s progress and capacity building with an ascetic spirit. The Public Works Department has the potential to take development works to new heights. During the time of Lord Shri Ram, Nala and Neel had discovered the technique of building a bridge on the sea. After the victory of Lanka, Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman ji came to Ayodhya by Pushpak Viman. Lord Vishwakarma created the Pushpak Vimana, which had the ability to accommodate everyone. This was an expression of the spirit of taking everyone along in development and welfare. Even at present, construction work is going on with the aim of providing everyone’s convenience and opportunities to move ahead in life. The Public Works Department of Madhya Pradesh is speeding up the infrastructure development works by making good use of new technology and time. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level program cum training session focused on innovations, digital initiatives and capacity building of engineers of the Public Works Department at Rabindra Bhawan on Saturday.
The upgraded version of Lokpath app will help in route planning, black spot alerts and information about roadside facilities.
In the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, there was a collective singing of Vande Mataram at the beginning of this program which realized the spirit of public welfare through public works. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. On arrival of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at the venue, he was welcomed by tribal artists with auspicious songs on traditional musical instruments. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was greeted by presenting Angavastram, statue of Emperor Vikramaditya and Tulsi plant. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the Capacity Building Framework 2026 developed by the Public Works Department for training, skill upgradation of engineers and guidance in modern project management and launched the upgraded version of Lokpath Mobile App – Lokpath 2.0. The app will provide a holistic, user-friendly and modern digital platform to citizens through services like road maintenance monitoring, quick redressal of citizen complaints, route planning, black spot alerts, emergency SOS facility and information on roadside facilities.
The capacity building framework includes technical training as well as project-financial and contract management.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also released a booklet based on the innovations and corrective efforts made by the Public Works Department in the last two years. It presents a glimpse of digital solutions, quality control, environmental protection, new manufacturing techniques and modern management systems. The program featured screening of short films on Capacity Building Framework, Lok Path 2.0 App and a book focusing on the activities of the department in the last 2 years. Management expert Dr. Vikrant Singh Tomar presented a capacity building framework focused on technical training, project management, financial management and contract management.
Every work of the Public Works Department is for the welfare of the general public.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Indian tradition has a rich history of technology, knowledge and innovation. Our ancient texts and cultural examples teach that even impossible tasks become possible with collective ability, intelligence and dedication. With this spirit under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, today’s engineers are making public welfare works more effective by using modern technology. The country’s engineers are building bridges on the sea, tunnels through the mountains and highways in Mumbai, which are world class in terms of technology and construction process. According to the intention of Prime Minister Modi, every work of the Public Works Department is for the welfare of the general public. When roads, bridges, buildings and other structures are built with quality, sensitivity and foresight, they make people’s lives simple, safe and convenient. He said that the innovations, modern technology and speed of work being adopted by the department are proof that the Public Works Department is moving ahead with new thinking. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the work being done by the Public Works Department.
Role of engineers is very important – Minister Singh
Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh said that the Public Works Department is not just a department that constructs roads, bridges and buildings, but it is the backbone of the speed, direction and development of the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Public Works Department has put the concept of “Public Welfare through Public Works” on a practical level and has directly linked infrastructure development with people’s lives. The roads built by the department connect farmers to markets, children to education, patients to health services and industries to investment opportunities. This is why the role of engineers becomes extremely important in the Public Works Department, which is one of the oldest and most important departments of the country.
In the next two years, the state’s Public Works Department will have the most skilled engineers of the country.
Public Works Minister Singh said that the nature of projects has changed with time. To work with new technology, new construction materials and new thinking, it is necessary for engineers to be technically proficient, mentally strong and adept in management. For this purpose, training programs have been prepared as a supporting tool. He said that as a result of the initiative of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the vision of a modern training and research institute for engineers in the department is being realized. This will increase the efficiency of engineers, save time and improve work-life balance. Referring to Lokpath 2.0 App, Public Welfare Index etc., Minister Singh said that other states have expressed their desire to adopt these innovations of the department. Minister Singh said that under the Mission Karmayogi of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, in the next two years, the Public Works Department of the state will have the most efficient group of engineers in the country.
Targets for the next three years and activities to be conducted for Developed India@2047
Principal Secretary of Public Works Department, Sukhbir Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the state is moving towards balanced development in economic, social and religious fields. Many important works of infrastructure development are being done by the state government in the entire state for Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has taken a swift decision showing his commitment in the matter of Atal Pragati Path. The Department is committed to deliver activities within the next three year goals and timelines for Developed India@2047. Managing Director of MPRDC Bharat Yadav, Managing Director Building Development Corporation Sibi Chakraborty, Ajay Patel of Bhaskaracharya Institute and experts from various disciplines of engineering and more than 1500 engineers participated in the program.
