Make youth self-reliant by giving them skill training: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has instructed the officials to make the youth self-reliant by giving them maximum skill upgradation training. He said that in the coming times, new industries are going to be established in Chhattisgarh, which will provide huge employment opportunities to the youth of the state.

The Chief Minister took a review meeting of the Department of Skill Development, Technical Education, Employment and Training at the Mahanadi Bhawan Ministry. During this, he also instructed the officials to organize employment fairs in different districts of the state from time to time. Departmental Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, Chief Secretary Vikassheel and many senior officials were present in the meeting.

Emphasis on modernization of ITI

The Chief Minister said that modernization of technical institutions is necessary to make the youth of the state employment oriented. With the upgradation of ITI, the youth will get training as per the needs of the industries and employment opportunities will increase in the state. He agreed to the proposal of integration of CSSDA and State Project Livelihood College Society and gave instructions for immediate action.

Along with this, instructions were given for rational posting of Assistant Directors and Assistant Project Officers in the districts, effective implementation of Aadhar Based Attendance System (AEBAS) in training centers and further strengthening the module developed for feedback from the trained youth.

Till now lakhs of youth have received training

Officials informed in the meeting that under the Chief Minister Skill Development Scheme, more than 4 lakh 90 thousand youth have been trained since 2013, out of which more than 2 lakh 71 thousand youth have been provided employment. At present there are 356 training provider institutions and 207 registered courses running in the state.

Big investment will be received from central schemes

Under the Pradhan Mantri Setu Yojana, 6 clusters have been selected on the hub-and-spoke model, from which an investment of about Rs 60 thousand crore is proposed for the modernization of ITI. Apart from this, under PM Janman Yojana, youth of special backward tribal groups and surrendered Naxalites are also being linked with skill training.
