Gwalior: The first rain of Mavtha has knocked in many districts including Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The rain that started in the afternoon in Gwalior continued intermittently till night. Due to which the weather has once again become cold and a drop in temperature was felt. According to the Meteorological Department, on Wednesday also there is an alert of dense fog in 12 districts of North Eastern Madhya Pradesh along with Gwalior Chambal region. In view of this, Gwalior Collector has also declared one day holiday for schools.

Temperature drops due to heavy rain

Along with Gwalior, heavy rain has also been recorded in Guna district in the last 24 hours. While Guna recorded 22 mm of rain, Gwalior and Datia also recorded 4 mm of rain till 5:30 pm. However, the rain continues intermittently. In such a situation, people in Gwalior had to face a lot of problems due to rain. There was also a difference in temperature. While the maximum temperature of Gwalior was recorded at 19.3 degrees Celsius till Tuesday evening, the minimum temperature was recorded at 11.2 degrees Celsius.

Impact of active Western Disturbance on Madhya Pradesh also

meteorologist Arun Sharma “At present, a Western Disturbance is situated at a height of 3.1 to 4.5 km above mean sea level in the form of a cyclonic circulation over North Pakistan and adjacent areas, a trough in the westerly winds of the middle and upper troposphere extends northwards from about longitude 65° to latitude 22° at a height of 5.8 km above mean sea level. Due to which, on Wednesday, its impact will be on Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. It will be seen in Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Rewa, Satna districts. Apart from this, there is a possibility of dense fog in these districts on Saturday morning.

Hail alert with rain

At the same time, there is a possibility of hailstorm along with rain in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena Datia, Shivpuri, Orchha, Niwari, Ratangarh and Shivpuri of Gwalior Chambal region. Also, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of moderate storm with thunderstorm and lightning till late evening.

One day holiday declared in all schools

In view of the current circumstances, Gwalior district Collector Ruchika Chauhan has declared a one-day holiday on Wednesday, January 28 in all government and non-government schools and Anganwadi centers of the district. So that the child does not fall ill after going out in such cold and rainy weather. However, school staff and Anganwadi workers and assistants will have to be present during this period.

Heavy hailstorm in Shajapur also

The weather suddenly changed its course in Shajapur on Tuesday evening. After this, a period of rain with strong thunderstorms started in various areas of the district. Along with the rain, there was also heavy hailstorm. Due to which the city streets became white. There is a possibility of damage to wheat and gram crops due to unseasonal rain and hailstorm. At the same time, the Meteorological Department is predicting rain in the next 24 hours, due to which the concern of the farmers has increased.

Waterlogging due to torrential rains in Burhanpur

Suddenly dark clouds appeared in the sky in Burhanpur at 6 pm on Tuesday evening, after which unseasonal rains started. Due to continuous rain for about 20 minutes, a situation of waterlogging was created at many places in the city. During this period, electricity also failed and there was heavy rain in rural areas including Nepanagar.

Cold increased after rain in Shivpuri

It rained continuously in Shivpuri till around 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. After the rain the temperature dropped and the cold increased. Due to rain throughout the day, life became abnormal. People’s daily work was also affected, apart from this the rain once again raised lines of worry on the forehead of the farmers, because on one hand the crops harvested in the fields got wet, due to which the possibility of fungus growing in it has increased. On the other hand, the risk of frost has increased in the crops standing in the fields.

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature of Shivpuri was recorded at 23 degrees and the minimum temperature was 7 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, 17 mm of rain has been recorded in Shivpuri in the last 9 hours.
