Bhopal MP Alok Sharma had taken a meeting regarding encroachment in the catchment of Bade Pond. It was discussed that what steps have been taken by the district administration regarding illegal encroachment in and around the Big Pond of Bhopal, after which the Collector has formed a task force showing strictness.
Encroachment within 50 meters of big pond
There is going to be strict action against encroachment within 50 meters of the big pond. For the first time, the district administration has constituted a district level task force to remove encroachments. The 19-member committee includes 17 administrative officers and 2 environmentalists. The task force will review the conservation works of the ponds and submit the report to the collector in 15 days. Action will be taken to identify encroachments and remove them.
‘Action will be taken in 1-2 days’
Collector Vikram Singh says that officers from all departments have been included in the task force. Now a task force has been formed under the chairmanship of SDM. Encroachments have been identified around Bairagarh, the action to remove them will be started in 1-2 days. Regarding the task force for the conservation of the Big Pond, Leader of Opposition Umang Singar asked whether the government will be able to remove the lands from the possession of influential people.
