Durg hospital negligence: Taking major action in the case, the police have registered a crime against the hospital management and the concerned doctors and arrested two accused. CSP Satyaprakash Tiwari said that Chiraj Verma had lodged a complaint in the police station, in which he blamed the negligence of the hospital for the death of his mother Padmabai Verma (57 years).

According to the complaint, on October 10, 2025, Padmabai Verma had fallen in the courtyard of the house, due to which she suffered serious leg injuries and became unable to walk. The next day on 11 October 2025, he was admitted to Shreya Hospital and Diagnostic Center located in Dhamdha. On October 13, his leg was operated on, but on October 14, his condition suddenly started deteriorating and his breathing started becoming faster.

The hospital management described the situation as serious and referred him to a higher centre. He was taken to Shankaracharya Hospital via ambulance, where doctors declared him dead. His family alleges that his consent was not taken before referral and there was not adequate medical care and presence of a doctor in the ambulance, due to which he died on the way.

Police investigation found the death to be caused by negligent and negligent medical action by the hospital management and the doctors concerned. On the basis of this, a case was registered in Dhamdha police station under section 106(1) and 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code and investigation was started.
