Lucknow. After rain and hailstorm in UP, cold has returned again. Fog like rain was falling since morning. 30 districts including Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra are in the grip of dense fog. Visibility has reduced to 10 meters in many districts. Due to this, 11 vehicles collided in two road accidents. 15 people are injured. A double-decker bus filled with devotees returning from Chardham and Barsana darshan went out of control and overturned on Agra Highway in Jaswantnagar area. There were 45 people in the bus. 10 devotees were injured in the accident near Malajani village. On the Delhi-Dehradun highway, 11 vehicles collided near Nangli Gate at 6 am. Due to fog, 4 pickups, 5 cars and 2 trucks collided with each other. Four people are injured in the accident. There was a long traffic jam on the highway. After a lot of effort the jam was cleared.
A drop of 3 to 5 degrees was recorded in the temperature due to the icy winds coming from the mountains. Melting has increased in the morning and evening. There is silence on the streets. The hands of people coming out of vehicles are becoming numb. People were seen escaping the cold by wearing warm clothes and lighting bonfires. Road, rail and air traffic was again badly affected due to fog. More than 60 trains are late by hours at all the railway stations including Lucknow and Kanpur. Four flights were delayed at Lucknow airport. Yesterday 3 flats were cancelled. Due to cold, roadways buses are also seen empty. The Meteorological Department says that another western disturbance is becoming active in the state from February 1, due to which there will be a possibility of rain in the western and eastern parts from February 1 to 3.
