Raipur : Farmers are getting convenience in selling paddy due to the transparent and digital system implemented at paddy procurement centres. Due to the arrangements made by the government, the process of selling paddy has now become simple, smooth and easy. Farmer Lal Sandil of Gram Panchayat Ghanghri under Ambikapur development block said that a total of 19.60 quintal paddy area is registered in the name of his grandfather Jhemal Ram Sandil this year. He said that the digital system saved time and there was no problem of crowding in the procurement centre.
Sandil said that as soon as we reached Namana Kalan Paddy Procurement Centre, the process of moisture testing was completed near the gate and gunny bags were immediately made available. Due to this, there was no inconvenience of any kind in the sale of paddy. He said that for the convenience of the farmers, arrangements for drinking water and shady seating have been made in the committee center and cooperation is being given by the committee employees at every level. He said that under the government of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the highest price of Rs 3100 per quintal is being obtained for paddy and up to 21 quintals per acre is being purchased, due to which farmers are getting benefits.
Farmer Sandil said that he is cultivating other crops like wheat, oilseeds and vegetables with the money received from the sale of paddy, due to which the income is increasing and the economic condition is improving. Praising the paddy procurement system, he said that the rural economy is being strengthened by getting the right price for the produce. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai for the work done in the interest of farmers and said that at present the farmers are very satisfied and happy with the paddy procurement system.
