Raipur : In Chhattisgarh, the positive effect of good governance of the government running under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is now clearly visible even in remote areas. In Dantewada district, the system of paddy procurement under the Kharif marketing year 2025-26 is being operated in a transparent, well-organized and smoothly manner.
As per the instructions of the government, a maximum of 21 quintals of paddy per acre is being purchased at all the paddy procurement centres. According to official data, 84,618.80 quintals of paddy has been purchased so far in the district. Out of this, 29,950 quintals of paddy has been lifted and milling work has also been completed. Due to regular lifting, there is sufficient space available in the procurement centers and paddy procurement is going on without any hindrance.
According to government records, the process of payment related to paddy purchase is also being done on time and smoothly. This has created satisfaction and confidence among the farmers. The priority of the government is that farmers should get fair price for their produce directly and on time, which is being successfully implemented in Dantewada district.
Adequate arrangements of gunny bags, clean drinking water, toilets, CCTV cameras and handrails have been made for the convenience of the farmers at the paddy procurement centres. This year, participation of farmers has increased and they are able to sell their produce without any hassle.
A total of 1,200 farmers from 12 villages are registered in the Balud Paddy Procurement Centre. Of these, 12,810 quintals of paddy have been purchased so far by 379 farmers.
Farmer Manku Ram, who came from Chitalanka village to sell paddy, said that the policies of the Vishnu Dev Sai government have given him confidence that his hard-earned crops will be safe. Meanwhile, farmer Shankar Singh Thakur from Awarabhata village praised the token app and said that it has made the process of selling paddy easier.
It can be clearly seen in the paddy procurement centers of Dantewada district that the benefits of good governance are reaching the farmers directly. There is a possibility of further increase in the figures of paddy purchase and payment in the coming days, which will further strengthen the agricultural economy of the district.
