Raipur : Due to the transparent and well-organized system of paddy procurement centers in Surguja district, the process of selling paddy has become convenient for the farmers. Farmers are getting direct benefits of this. Small farmer Arvind Ram Minj, resident of Gram Panchayat Hariharpur under Ambikapur development block, shared his experiences while appreciating the paddy procurement system.
Minj said that due to good rains this year, the paddy yield has also improved. He cultivates paddy in about 5.25 acres of land. His total paddy area is 103 quintals. He told that he got the token cut for 103 quintals of paddy sitting at home using Kisan Tunhar Token App through mobile phone. Due to availability of digital facility, there was no problem of any kind in deducting the token.
He told that as soon as he reached Shivpur Paddy Procurement Centre, he got the facility of gate pass, the moisture of the paddy was tested and gunny bags were immediately made available, due to which there was no inconvenience in selling the paddy. He said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, arrangements for drinking water and shady seating have been made in the committee centre. Besides, full support is being provided to the farmers by the committee employees.
Minj said that during the reign of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the highest price of paddy is Rs 3100 per quintal, due to which farmers are getting huge economic benefits. He said that last year, with the income received from the sale of paddy, he cultivated other crops including wheat, oilseeds and vegetables, which has increased his income.
Farmer Minj praised the paddy procurement system. Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, he said that the rural economy is getting strengthened due to getting the highest price for paddy.
