Raipur : Employment is being ensured through livelihood shops run by women self-help groups under Bihan scheme in Khallari area of Mahasamund district. The women of Om Satya Sai Self Help Group formed under Bihan have taken steps towards self-reliance and have established this shop, which is not only becoming a sales center for local products but is also empowering women financially.
Women associated with Tiranga Gram Sangathan Bhimkhoj Khallari, including Santoshi Singh (President), Vandana Yadav and Mala Yadav (members), are leading the initiative. Sewing products, toys, soaps, soaps, all finials, pottery and other handicraft items are being sold in the shop. These products are manufactured entirely by women’s groups, providing them with direct access to the market. With this, women do not need to depend on middlemen and can earn direct profits from their products. The women of the group told that the products of various self-help groups of the district are brought and sold in their shop.
Bihan Yojana, which is part of the National Rural Livelihood Mission, provides opportunities for self-employment and economic self-reliance to rural women. Such shops are playing an important role in strengthening the local economy. Santoshi Singh said that this shop is not just a business for us, but a symbol of self-confidence and independence. We are also motivating other women to join this scheme. Recently, the shop was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat, Shri Hemant Nandanwar.
