Raipur : On the occasion of the birthday of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, 2100 medicinal plants were distributed by the Chhattisgarh Local Tribal Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board in his home village Bagiya. This program was organized with the aim of environmental protection and dissemination of traditional medicinal knowledge.

Villagers and public representatives participated enthusiastically on this occasion. Through the programme, people were given information about the importance of medicinal plants, their conservation and domestic use. Board officials said that this initiative is in line with the state government’s policy of environmental protection and promotion of traditional tribal health systems.
It is noteworthy that as per the instructions of Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap and under the guidance of Chhattisgarh Local Tribal Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board Chairman Vikas Markam, by distributing medicinal plants, people were motivated and encouraged to plant more and more plants and take care of them. On one hand this will increase the green cover, while on the other hand the traditional medical system will also be strengthened. During the program, wishes were made for the healthy and long life of Chief Minister Sai. Also, confidence was expressed that under his leadership the state will move forward towards sustainable development and prosperity.
