Vidisha. The day of 17th January brought many big gifts for Vidisha of Madhya Pradesh. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 8 National Highway projects of total 181 km length and 3 Driving Training Centers to be built at a cost of more than Rs 4,400 crore in a program organized in Vidisha. Among these, 4-lane widening of Abdullahganj to Itarsi section in Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary area and construction of Dehgaon to Bamhori road under CRIF were also inaugurated.

Along with this, 4-lane widening of Bhopal to Vidisha section, Vidisha to Gyaraspur, Gyaraspur to Rahatgarh, Rahatgarh to Berkhedi section, construction of 4-lane road of Sagar Western Bypass (Greenfield), construction of 5 underpasses at Narsinghgarh Junction, Jhirniya, Hingoni and Barodiya Talab joint on Bhopal-Biaora section of NH-46 and 1 more Sagar in Vidisha district. The foundation stone of 2 driving training centers was laid in the district.
Medical college will be built in Raisen: CM Mohan Yadav
While addressing the program organized in Vidisha, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Vidisha is the land of late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and late Sushma Swaraj. He said that the importance of Vidisha is different and special like Ujjain. The people here have created their own identity and the Sanchi Stupa located in Vidisha gives a different pleasure. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Gwalior-Nagpur Highway should be approved to connect Bhopal to Agra. Also, people will get great benefit from the construction of Kota-Bhopal-Sagar Highway and Ujjain-Jabalpur-Ambikapur road. He told that a demand of Rs 4,500 crore was made for 50 roads of the state, on which Nitin Gadkari immediately approved from the stage on the demand of the Chief Minister. For this, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude and said that a network of 50 new roads will be laid in Madhya Pradesh. CM Mohan Yadav further said that a medical college will be built in Raisen.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s demand to build ring road in Vidisha
Shivraj Singh Chauhan also demanded many roads for Vidisha from Nitin Gadkari. He demanded construction of ring road in Vidisha, development of ring road from south to north, Vidisha-Kota Greenfield Expressway, converting the National Highway being built in Budni from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and Nagpur-Gwalior National Expressway. While demanding Rs 400 crore for Vidisha, Shivraj talked about giving Rs 50-50 crore for local roads in every assembly constituency. He said that people put his uncle’s photo in the potholes on the roads, although the Union Minister has nothing to do with it, but the road should be built.
Nitin Gadkari announced
Announcing from the stage, Nitin Gadkari said that the Kota-Vidisha-Sagar new greenfield highway will be built at a cost of Rs 16 thousand crore, which will connect to Kanpur and Lucknow-Kanpur via Bhopal. Approval has been given to make Nasrullah-Budni National Highway 4 lanes, which was currently being made 2 lanes. Rs 450 crore was also approved for on-time improvement of roads. On this, Gadkari said jokingly that the Chief Minister could have asked for 2-4 thousand crores, but 450 crores is nothing. Gadkari also approved the construction of Ring Road in Vidisha and Gwalior-Bhopal-Nagpur Greenfield Highway, which will be built at a cost of about Rs 40 thousand crore. Rs 1,600 crore sanctioned for construction of roads for Simhastha.
