Raipur : Various beneficiary oriented works are being carried out in Surguja district under the Bharat Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB Ji Ram Ji), developed with the aim of strengthening the means of livelihood in rural areas and making farmers self-reliant. In this series, the construction work of livelihood dabri has been approved in the field of beneficiary Nanku in Gram Panchayat Chakeri under District Panchayat Udaipur.
A sanctioned amount of Rs 1.99 lakh has been provided by the government for this work, out of which an amount of Rs 1.82568 lakh has been spent so far. The construction work of Aajeevika Dabri was started on 17 December 2025, the work of which is in progress and is being done as per the prescribed standards.
With the construction of Aajeevika Dabri, the beneficiary will get the facility of rain water harvesting, due to which water will be available for irrigation. This will increase the productivity of crops and will also create opportunities for fish farming, vegetable production and other income enhancing activities. Besides, the income of rural families is also increasing due to availability of employment to local workers under VB Ji Ram Ji.
Beneficiary Nanku said that the construction of Dabri will provide a permanent solution to the water problem in the fields and along with agriculture, other livelihood activities will also become possible. Describing this government scheme as useful for the villagers, he expressed his gratitude for it.
It is noteworthy that the District Administration and District Panchayat Udaipur are giving priority to the works related to water conservation and livelihood promotion through VB Ji Ram Ji, which is strengthening the rural economy and promoting sustainable development in the villages.
