Srinagar. A consignment of weapons dropped by Pakistan through drone has been recovered near the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials gave this information on Saturday. He said that 2 pistols, 3 magazines, 16 cartridges and a grenade and other items have been recovered. He said security has been tightened to foil any attempt by terrorists to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations.

Officials said that after receiving information about suspicious drone activity from across the border, a joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search operation in Palora village of Ghagwal area late on Friday night. According to officials, the search team found a packet wrapped in yellow tape on the banks of a drain, which was opened with the help of a bomb disposal squad. He said that weapons were recovered from the packet. Officials said that the search operation was going on till the last information was received.

2 army porters died after falling from the slope
On the other hand, two civilian army porters died after slipping and falling from a slope near the Line of Control in Gulmarg sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and their bodies were recovered. Officials said the two porters have been identified as Liaqat Ahmed Didar and Ishaq Ahmed Khatana. Both were residents of Chandusa, Baramulla. Both the porters had slipped from a forward area and fallen into a drain on Thursday afternoon. Immediately after the incident, a rescue operation was launched in Gulmarg sector under the control of Srinagar-based 15 Corps. The search operation was extended to Poonch sector of Jammu region as it is close to the accident site. The Poonch area of ​​the Line of Control comes under the jurisdiction of the Army’s Nagrota-based White Knight (16) Corps.
