New Delhi. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday and requested him for the Bhoomi Pujan of the project of expansion of Super Thermal Power Station of Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed Prime Minister Modi about the organization of Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit, celebrating the year 2026 as Farmer Welfare Year in the state, progress report of National Dairy Development Board Sanchi Cooperative Agreement along with the progress of NT Naxal campaign in the state.

Permission for expansion of 1600 MW capacity

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told that the Super Thermal Power Station of NTPC Limited is located in Gadarwara in Narsinghpur district of the state. Permission for expansion of 1600 MW (Stage II, 2× 800 MW) capacity has been granted by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. Its total cost is Rs 20 thousand 446 crores. The target is to complete the project by the year 2029-30. The project is based on state-of-the-art ultra supercritical technology and also uses air cooled condenser technology, which reduces water consumption by 1/3 compared to conventional water cooled condensers (with cooling towers).

Government is making ‘Farmers Welfare Year’

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told Prime Minister Modi that the year 2026 is being celebrated as ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’ by the Madhya Pradesh government to realize the goal of “prosperous farmer-prosperous state”. He told that the year 2025 was celebrated as the Year of Industry and Employment in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a detailed calendar of various programs and activities has been prepared from January 2026 to November 2026 to organize the Farmer Welfare Year 2026. All activities will be conducted by setting a target of 3 years. More than 16 departments will participate in this. The government’s 10 resolutions for farmer welfare in the year 2026 will work towards promoting natural and organic farming, building food parks and food processing units at places with perishable crops, providing subsidies to encourage agricultural industries, and increasing participation of farmers in agricultural industries. The state government will work to achieve the target of installation of solar pumps in the fields of 30 lakh farmers in the next 3 years.
