Patna. Oil marketing companies have made OTP (One Time Password) mandatory in the delivery process of domestic LPG cylinders. This rule will be implemented more strictly from the month of March. It has been told that now the gas cylinder will not be delivered under any circumstances without giving the OTP. The objective of this decision is to bring transparency in the system and stop the complaints of fake delivery that have been being received for a long time. In fact, complaints were being received from many areas that the delivery of the cylinder was shown complete on paper but the gas cylinder did not reach the consumer’s house. Apart from this, there have also been complaints of black marketing and arbitrariness of middlemen. Now the new digital system is being seen as a way to curb these irregularities. Under this new process, when a consumer books a gas cylinder, an OTP will be sent to his registered mobile number. When the delivery boy reaches the customer’s house with the cylinder, the customer will have to give the same OTP. The delivery person will enter that OTP in his handheld device. Once the OTP matches, the delivery will be confirmed in the system and the cylinder will be handed over. If the consumer is unable to provide the OTP, the delivery will be considered incomplete and the cylinder will be taken back.
