Patna. Bihar government has decided to construct modern e-bus depots in six major cities. Transport Minister Shravan Kumar said that government depots will be built in Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur and Purnia at a cost of Rs 62 crore 83 lakh. This work is being done under the Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Seva Yojana. The depot will be constructed by the Building Construction Department. With their construction, operation, maintenance and charging facilities of e-buses will improve significantly. Also, driver-conductors will get better comfort arrangements. Each depot will have administrative building, workshop, bus wash ramp, parking capacity for multiple buses simultaneously, power backup, besides charging station. Apart from this, there will also be public toilet, about 2 meter high boundary wall and feeding room. Transport Minister Shravan Kumar said that these modern depots are important steps for safe operation of electric buses, better maintenance, passenger convenience and driver welfare. This will help in environmental protection as well as strengthening the public transport system.
