The beneficiary of the district, Bhuiri Bai, husband Kanshiram, was once living in difficult conditions in a kutcha house, but today she is living a safe and respectable life in a permanent house built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
Got relief from the troubles of a kutcha house
Beneficiary Bhuiri Bai husband of Kanshi Ram, beneficiary of Gram Panchayat Kunwarpur under Lakhanpur development block of Surguja district, says that earlier she used to live in a kutcha house, where she had to face problems in every season. Water leaked during rains, the walls were weak and even normal activities of daily living became difficult. In such a situation, the dream of having a permanent house was very big for them, which seemed incomplete due to lack of resources.
The support of a solid roof amid the struggle
Bhuiri Bai told that her husband Kashiram’s name was approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural). She along with her husband decided to build a permanent house. But unfortunately, her husband passed away during the construction of the house, but this permanent house built with the help of the government remains the support of her life today. She is living safely in the same house.
Picture changed due to government schemes
Bhuiri Bai told that if she had not received financial assistance from the government, she would never have been able to build a permanent house. Today they have not only got strong and safe housing, but are also getting the benefits of other government schemes. They are getting rice, pulses and sugar regularly under the public distribution system, which has ensured food security. At the same time, after getting gas connection through Ujjwala scheme, they now cook food in a smoke-free environment, which has improved both health and convenience.
Living example of good governance
Bhuiri Bai emotionally tells that now she has no worries. It has become possible to live a comfortable and safe life in a permanent house. Expressing his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, he said that the government has fulfilled his dream of having a pucca house and has given him an opportunity to live a life with dignity.
