The dream of a safe and respectable life came true through PM Awas Yojana.

Raipur : Due to the effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, there has been a positive change in the life of Shyam Bai, a resident of Gram Panchayat Dabri under Pandariya District Panchayat of Kabirdham district. Shyam Bai and her husband Parsan, belonging to a farmer family, previously lived in a dilapidated kutcha house. The family was living in a state of constant insecurity due to the leaking roof and damaged walls during the rainy season.

After getting approval under the scheme, an amount of Rs 1.20 lakh was transferred to his bank account through DBT in three installments for house construction. With the guidance of Panchayat and field staff, the pucca house was completed within the stipulated time. The family has also received integrated benefits from other government schemes. Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, wages of about Rs 22 thousand for 90 man days, toilets from Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin, gas connection, tap water and electricity facilities from Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, health security from Ayushman Bharat Yojana and regular financial assistance from pension and other schemes are being received.

Collector Kabirdham Gopal Verma said that housing construction works in the district are being continuously reviewed. 50,869 houses have been sanctioned in the district, out of which 27,966 houses have been completed.
