The team of Surveillance Department has arrested Sub-Inspector Bhaskar Kumar Mishra posted at Sadar Police Station red handed while taking bribe. Cash was also found near him. It is being told that Inspector Bhaskar Kumar Mishra of Sadar police station had demanded Rs 50,000 in exchange for removing the name of the accused named in a kidnapping case from the case diary. Later this deal was finalized for Rs 30 thousand. The accused officer had asked to pay the amount in two installments of Rs 15,000 each. The victim said that he would not be able to pay that amount. But, Bhaskar Kumar Mishra did not listen to him.

After this, the victim party had lodged a complaint in this regard at the monitoring station, Patna. Based on the complaint, the surveillance department formed a special raid team and laid a trap and arrested the sub-inspector while taking bribe. A bribe amount of Rs 15 thousand has been recovered from him. DSP Sanjay Kumar of the surveillance team said that the accused inspector has been arrested. Further action is being taken in the matter.

Information received from the monitoring team: Bhaskar Kumar Mishra is a resident of Purnia district and is an inspector of the year 2019 batch. Victim Aman Kumar told that his brother Anand Kumar was made an accused in a kidnapping case. Later he got bail from the court. Despite this, the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case Bhaskar Kumar Mishra was demanding money in exchange for removing the name from the case diary. Aman Kumar said that action was being threatened if the demands were not met. After this he lodged an FIR in the surveillance department. On Wednesday, the sub-inspector called him to Sadar police station, where the surveillance team caught him red-handed.
