Bhopal. Census work is to be done in Madhya Pradesh. In the first phase, counting of people’s houses will be done, while in the second phase, counting of people will be done. A training conference for state level Collector-Commissioner regarding census was organized in Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Registrar General and Census Commissioner Shri Mrityunjay Kumar Narayan were mainly present in the training conference. Registrar General, Census Commissioner and Chief Secretary Madhya Pradesh appreciated the work of Gwalior Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Sangh Priya for the initial preparations for the census work in Gwalior district. He said that the experience of the census work done in Gwalior will help other districts also in making their preparations. Ratlam and Seoni collectors were also praised in the training conference.

Census will be held in two phases

The Census of India is the largest administrative task in the world. It is the only source of providing demographic and economic data at the village and ward level in India. Like the previous censuses, this time also the upcoming census will be conducted in 2 phases, for which, using the powers conferred by Section 3 of the Census Act, 1948, a notification has been issued by the Government of India in the Gazette on 16 June 2025.
