Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday (February 10) asserted that whatever decision the Congress high command takes on the issue of change in the chief ministerial post, it will be final and he will follow the instructions of the leadership. Along with this, he also made it clear that he is not going to Delhi to discuss this issue. He said in his statement that he will go only when he is called by the high command.
In fact, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was responding to several comments made by Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, in which he had said that he has ‘no confusion’ on the leadership issue, as he and Siddaramaiah have discussed the matter in the presence of the Congress high command.
Speaking to the media in Bangalore, Siddaramaiah said that I will not say anything about this right now. The decision of the High Command will be final. There is no use asking unnecessary questions. On DK Shivakumar’s statement, he said that if he has said something, then you should ask him. I do not know. I am committed to following the instructions of the High Command. In response to a question, he said that he is not going to Delhi, he clearly said that why should I go without being invited? My work here is to prepare the budget. If I am called I will go.
In fact, the power struggle between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, which had been going on for some time, came to the fore again when Siddaramaiah’s son and MLC Yatindra insisted that his father will complete his five-year term, and the party high command has given indications in this regard. With this he claimed that the issue of changing the CM is now over.
