Disruption in banking services on February 12, preparation for employee movement

Indore. Bank employee unions like All India Bank Employees Association, All India Bank Officers Association and BEFI have called for a nationwide bank strike on 12 February 2026 against the anti-labor, anti-people policies and financial decisions of the Central Government. Central trade unions have also decided to go on strike on February 12 on these issues. Other unions working in the banking sector have supported this strike. In this general strike, other unions like LIC, GIC etc. will also be on strike.

The attacks on the right to organize, the right to collective bargaining and strike through the four labor codes, the privatization of public sector banks and insurance institutions, the massive shortage of employees, outsourcing, abolition of the old pension scheme and rising service charges on the general public—all these issues are a direct blow to the interests of not only the bank employees but also the country’s economy and the common citizens. This general strike is not just a one-day protest, but symbolizes a united struggle for the protection of labor rights, public sector safety and social justice. Madhya Pradesh Bank Employees Association Chairman Mohan Krishna Shukla and MP Bank Officers Association General Secretary Arvind Porwal have appealed to all bank employees and officers to ensure active participation and make this struggle historically successful.
