Sehore : Saturday was a historic day for Madhya Pradesh, here the National Consultation and Strategy Conference under the National Pulses Self-Reliance Mission was started in Amalaha, Sehore. During this program, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with Agriculture Ministers of 9 states and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav launched the Pulses Mission Portal. Along with this, Shivraj announced to start Seed Grams across the country.
What is Pulses Mission Portal?
Pulses Mission Portal is an online portal through which work will be done to promote pulses production not only in the state but in the entire country. This portal is no less than a boon for the farmers. Pulses Mission Portal will work towards providing new technical information and agricultural services related to pulses and seeds to the farmers through digital medium and easily.
on this occasion Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,Respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji decided that the production of pulses should increase in the country. Our resolve is that be it lentils, gram, urad, buttermilk or moong, we will increase the productivity of all of them. We will try to get more production by sowing these. We are also continuously making improved seeds.
1 thousand new pulse mills will be established across the country
Union Minister Shivraj Singh, while making the announcement in the Pulses Conference organized in Amalaha, announced the establishment of 1 thousand new pulses mills. He told that out of these pulse mills, 55 pulse mills will be started in Madhya Pradesh. On MSP, the Union Minister said that tur will be purchased at Rs 8000 per quintal, urad at Rs 7800, gram at Rs 5875 and lentils at Rs 7000 per quintal. Shivraj Singh said, “Only the government will take care of the farmers from seed to market.”
Now seeds will not be released in Delhi: Shivraj
During this time, the Union Agriculture Minister made a big announcement on the release of seeds and said that now the seeds will be released separately in the states. He said, “Today we are taking a decision that no seeds will be released in Delhi now. Will go to the states and release seeds among the farmers. I want to request the farmer brothers that we will develop clusters under the Pulses Mission. We will also give a seed kit to every farmer who comes under the cluster.
National roadmap of pulses will be ready in Madhya Pradesh
Union Minister Shivraj said in this national conference, ”Special brainstorming is being done on pulses production with the agriculture ministers of all the states. A national roadmap to increase pulses production is being prepared. Under this mission, a separate amount of Rs 354 crore will be given to Madhya Pradesh.
