Indore. Administrative insensitivity has once again come to the fore regarding the poor condition of the crematorium in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) area. There is neither adequate cleanliness in the crematorium complex nor any concrete arrangement for the protection of dead bodies. The situation is so serious that due to lack of wood and sticks, stray dogs are seen scratching half-burnt dead bodies, due to which there is great anger among the area residents. Despite the instructions of SDM and ADM, the matter is not being heard.
Local resident Rohit Verma had raised this serious problem in the public hearing. It was told in the complaint that the water tank in the cremation ground is damaged, there is filth in the premises and no responsible person is deployed to look after the dead bodies. Due to this, social and human norms are being openly violated. Due to lack of arrangement and shortage of wood and sticks, the dead bodies remain half-burnt. Since there is no boundary wall, the entire complex is occupied by animals.
the letter is just for show
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, SDM Mhow had written a letter to the Chief Municipal Officer and instructed him to take necessary action. In the letter, it was clearly stated about regular cleaning of the cremation ground, appointment of a responsible employee, displaying contact numbers, providing basic facilities for bathing and cremation and securing the cremation premises. Despite this, those responsible have only pretended. Taking cognizance of the complaint in the public hearing, despite the instructions of the ADM, no concrete action has been taken till now by the Municipal Council. Neither security arrangements were made nor any improvement was seen in the systems. Area residents say that if immediate action is not taken, they will be forced to agitate.
