CID has filed a charge sheet against the main accused Vinay Kumar Sah alias Harihar Singh in the alleged paper irregularities related to JSSC CGL exam in Jharkhand. The hearing of this case will take place on 13 February. Vinay Kumar was arrested from Gorakhpur on 20 November 2025.

According to CID, Vinay Kumar Sah along with his associates had conspired to rig the examination in a hotel located in Doranda, Ranchi. The accused and his associates took the candidates to Nepal via Raxaul border and provided them with question papers and answers even before the examination. In return, there was also an indication of transfer of Rs 1 lakh to the account of the accused.
Details of examination and testing
The examination in this case was held on 22 September 2024. CID found in its investigation that a conspiracy was hatched to tamper with the examination, but the paper was not leaked. On December 3 last year, the High Court had rejected the petition demanding a CBI investigation. After this, the final merit list was released on 8th December in which 1932 candidates were declared successful.
Accused and other culprits
According to the charge sheet, apart from Vinay Kumar Sah, Manoj Kumar, Shashibhushan Dixit and Sandeep Tripathi are also involved in this case. The accused have admitted to the wrongdoing. UP STF had arrested Vinay on the basis of input received from Jharkhand. Nepali and Indian SIM cards were also found with him.
