Bhopal. Big success has been achieved in the first phase of Samadhan Yojana 2025-26 implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that under the scheme, till now the principal outstanding amount of Rs 852 crore 76 lakh has been deposited, while the surcharge of Rs 350 crore 67 lakh has been waived. 17 lakh 15 thousand consumers have availed benefits by registering under the scheme. The Energy Minister said that by joining the resolution scheme which started from November 3 last year, lakhs of outstanding consumers took the benefit of 100 percent surcharge waiver. He has appealed that the remaining consumers who have outstanding dues of more than three months should join the second phase of the scheme and make lump sum payment and avail the benefit of waiver of surcharge up to 90 percent. The second phase of the scheme will run till 28 February 2026.
Profit received in all three power distribution companies
5 lakh 27 thousand consumers got registered in Central Region Electricity Distribution Company. Here the principal amount of Rs 534 crore 16 lakh was deposited, while the surcharge of Rs 263 crore 94 lakh was waived. 6 lakh 8 thousand consumers took benefit of the scheme in East Area Electricity Distribution Company. Here the principal amount of Rs 174 crore 94 lakh was deposited and surcharge of Rs 62 crore 11 lakh was waived. 5 lakh 80 thousand consumers got registered in the Western Region Electricity Distribution Company area. Principal amount of Rs 143 crore 66 lakh was deposited from this sector, while surcharge of Rs 24 crore 62 lakh was waived off.
